BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1] is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). For her performance, she was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in an Drama Series in 2014. She was also an actor in the Fox series Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young began her acting profession as an actor in the theatre. Her Broadway debut on stage in 1997 in the role of Mary in the original cast. In addition, her Off-Broadway performances include Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) as well as in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). [3][10] In 1995, she made her TV debut as a regular on"awkward" NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In addition, she guest-starred in the show Law & Order in 1997 as well as 1998 in two distinct characters. Her film debut was in 1999 as the role of the crime thriller Black and White. The actress later appeared in other independent movies. In the early 2000s she was invited to guest-star roles on a number of television comedies and dramas which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 to in 2011, Young made over 30 guest appearances on television programs.
