thomas sadoski-2Sadoski began his stage career with an award as an understudy to Mark Ruffalo and Mark Rosenthal in the Off-Broadway productions of Kenneth Lonergan's critically reviewed play This is Our Youth at the Second Stage Theatre. This production was the beginning of many for the New york-based theater group. He has appeared in many Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, and has also appeared in numerous productions of regional theaters. Along with Alison Pill, he played the role of Greg in Neil LaBute's 2008 play Reasons to be Beautiful at MCC Theatre. After a sell-out Off-Broadway production the play was moved to Broadway in April 2009. The show received three Tony Award nominations, including Best Actor and Best Actress: Marin Ireland, and three Drama Desk Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Director: Terry Kinney. Sixteen Neil LaBute credits Sadoski for inciting the widely-praised shift in tone of the reasons to be beautiful from the playwright's previous works saying: "His own thoughtfulness and good heart helped me to not fall back on any of the plays I've written prior to that. My plays are dark. He helped me to see different colors within the palette. I was of the opinion that that was an actual thing. He was the first Trip Wyeth character in Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities, for which he received an Obie Award (and a Lucille Lortel Award). The show (which, also after it's sold-out Off-Broadway run, was transferred to Broadway in November of 2011) was named Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play by the Outer Critics Circle in 2011. Sadoski, Ben Stiller, Edie Failco Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alison Pill and Alison Pill were also seen on Broadway in John Guare's House of Blue Leaves.
